Sexual anatomy

Some people call it “the love button” or “the little man in the boat.”  But the clitoris, the pivotal organ of female sexual response, is hardly little.

Many people assume that all there is to the clitoris is what they can see, a sensitive little button of flesh ensconced between the labia under the hood of its foreskin. It turns out that the entire clitoris is a wishbone-shaped structure about 3 ½ inches in length and 2 ½ inches in width. The glans of the clitoris is the visible tip that protrudes at the top of the female genitalia. But the clitoris extends into the body and then splits downward into two leglike parts, the crura, which are composed of erectile tissue and are adjacent to the vagina and urethra. Labia

The labia (lips) are folds of skin around your vaginal opening. The labia majora (outer lips) are usually fleshy and covered with pubic hair. The labia minora (inner lips) are inside your outer lips. They begin at your clitoris and end under the opening to your vagina.

Labia can be short or long, wrinkled or smooth. Often one lip is longer than the other. They also vary in color from pink to brownish black. The color of your labia can change as you get older. Some people have larger outer lips than inner lips, and many have larger inner lips than outer lips. Both are sensitive, and swell when you’re turned on.

Clitoris

The tip of the clitoris (AKA glans) is located at the top of your vulva, where your inner lips meet. Everyone’s is a different size. It can be about as small a pea or as big as a thumb. The tip of the clitoris is covered by the clitoral hood.

This is just the beginning of the clitoris though. It extends inside your body, back and down on both sides of the vagina. This part, called the shaft and crura (roots and legs), is about 5 inches long.

Your clitoris is made of spongy tissue that becomes swollen when you’re aroused (turned on). It has thousands of nerve endings — more than any other part of the human body. And it’s only purpose? To make you feel good.

Opening of the urethra

The urethral opening is the tiny hole that you pee out of, located just below your clitoris.

Opening of the vagina

The vaginal opening is right below your urethral opening. It’s where menstrual blood leaves your body, and babies are born through the vaginal opening. A variety of things can go inside your vagina, like fingers, penises, sex toys, tampons, and menstrual cups.

Anus

The anus (AKA butthole) is the opening to your rectum. The anus has lots of sensitive nerve endings, so some people experience sexual pleasure from anal stimulation.

Mons pubis

The mons is the fleshy mound above your vulva. After puberty, it’s covered with pubic hair. It cushions your pubic bone.

Lets see more erogenous zones in a female body

There are two types of erogenous zones: nonspecific and specific. Those of the nonspecific type depend upon exaggeration of a basic tickle sensation.

For light touch, the neck, forearm, and vaginal margin are the most sensitive areas, and the areola is the least sensitive. When it comes to pressure, the clitoris and nipple are the most sensitive, and the side boob and abdomen are the least. Lastly, when it comes to vibration, the clitoris and nipple are most sensitive. The clitoris was the most sensitive to vibration out of all the body parts.

The brain

Not commonly thought of as an erogenous zone, the brain is in fact the largest on the body as it makes the connection between visual stimulation and physical touch.

Who is touching you

The gentle breath on the back of your neck, a brush of the knee or feather like kiss on your hand can produce a sexual sensation, depending on who is delivering the touch and to whom.

Your eyes

Not considered an obvious erogenous part of the body, just looking at a person in a certain way or being watched can create sexual pleasure and sensations, from shivers down your spine to feeling breathless.

The feet

Used for centuries to stimulate organs, reflexology restores the body’s natural balance and promote the healing process and can boost your sex life too.

Our bodies are covered in skin, one of the most erogenous zones in our body due to having some many nerve endings. However and wherever you enjoy being touched, finding your own erogenous zones is fun and will increase your sexual stimulation, so start exploring – you may be surprised at what sets your sexual pleasure soaring.
